Aral/BP cannot give a legal binding consultation for the customer. The customer must align internally with income tax/ Human Resources departments and legal advisors. However, we can provide the following information:
The Reimbursement Service is based on the principle of travel expenses compensation, which reimburses the real costs incurred for charging at home via wallboxes connected to private household energy meter.
- Aral/BP recommends storing the registration confirmation email with the PDF scan of the driver’s electricity contract as proof for the applied work price per kWh. Further documents for storage by the customer are monthly invoices by Aral/BP with a separate part for reimbursement and the monthly report including the reimbursement amount per card number.
- These documents might be requested by fiscal authorities in case of audits.
- In Germany, the legal aspects for e-mobility are provided by the BMF (Bundesministerium für Finanzen), as in the latest publication dated from 29.9.2020 (available here).
BP recommends customers to store all documents sent by the Home Charging Reimbursement Service (Registration Portal) for documentation purpose towards fiscal authorities.
BP takes no liability for checking the electricity tariff approved by the fleet manager nor for internal obligations between employer (customer) and employee (Fuel & Charge cardholder).
